Something is wrong at Blackwood Institute.
When Dr. Hannah Torres receives an urgent call to help her former colleague and friend Dr. Eleanor Chen, she discovers a nightmare masquerading as a psychiatric episode. Eleanor alternates between her brilliant self and a disturbing personality claiming to be the controversial researcher Marcus Webb.
As Hannah investigates, the truth proves far more terrifying than madness. Eleanor isn't mentally ill—she's being hollowed out, her consciousness systematically erased to make room for something else. Webb's consciousness transfer experiments weren't failures; they were catastrophic successes, opening doors between dimensions that were never meant to be breached.
Beneath Blackwood Institute lies a nexus point where reality thins—a place indigenous people called "The Thin Place" and avoided for centuries. The hospital's eccentric founder built the facility specifically to exploit this dimensional weakness, incorporating occult symbols into its very architecture. For decades, patients and staff have been disappearing, their records altered, their minds harvested as vessels.
Now the process is accelerating. Staff members move with unnatural precision. Patients speak in unified voices. The symbols on Blackwood's walls glow with eerie light. Reality itself becomes unstable as an ancient entity prepares for something called "The Convergence"—a mass consciousness transfer that will allow it to fully manifest in our world.
With the help of the few remaining unaffected staff, Hannah must find a way to close the breach permanently. But stopping the entity requires a terrible sacrifice, and Hannah herself carries fragments of other consciousnesses that make her uniquely vulnerable to hollowing.
Even if she succeeds, can she be sure her own mind remains entirely her own?
